Rewind

Happy Thanksgiving!
I know Thanksgiving was 2 months ago but I've been too busy to blog about it. We went to Tallahassee and stayed at my sister's house. She was gracious enough to host the event. There was my mom, dad, my sister, Leigh, her husband Adam, their kids Amber, Andrew, Aidan, Arynn, my brother Scott, Me, Chris, Lila, Calvin, Emmett, my brother BenJamin, his wife Lizz, and daughter Mizu, my brother Jeff, his wife Shannon, and Shannon's sister, Chelsea. Whew, that's a lot of people, and to think my other 2 brother's and their families were missing. I wished we could have seen them too. I love getting together with my family. There's just something relaxing about being with them. It's a little stressful being away from home but Lila and Calvin enjoyed playing with their cousins.
It was a low-key weekend. We got into town Wednesday night and were able to visit a little. Thursday, we had the big meal I look forward to all year, then played games and visited the rest of the evening. Friday we attempted the annual family picture. It's crazy how hard it is to get one good picture where all 5 of us are looking at the camera, smiling, and looking pretty. Thank goodness we only do it once a year. After picture taking, we headed to the park. Saturday, we headed back home. We had a long drive but broke it up by stopping at the outlet mall on the way home. All year long, Chris looks forward to shopping at the Polo Outlet for black Friday deals. I like shopping at the outlet mall too, just a little bit:) It was a great Thanksgiving!

They're Gone, All Gone

No more helpers. They're all gone. Chris' parents have come and gone. They've actually been gone for a few weeks now but I'm just now getting around to blogging about the visit. They were excellent helpers. It was so nice to have the house cleaned without me having to do it. His mom is a cleaning machine. Not to mention a pie making machine. His dad was a baby burping and putting baby to sleep machine. Okay, enough with the machine talk. They also babysat and let me take naps during the day. The kids and I both loved having them here. That pretty much sums up the best 2 1/2 weeks with the in-laws.

I'm on my own now. Just me and my 3 kiddos. We've had our ups and downs but mostly we are doing great. Not a well oiled machine yet, more like a slightly lubricated and half working machine is an accurate description. We'll get there though. In the meantime, I'm just trying to enjoy each day with my wonderful children. They are growing up so quickly. Lila is repeating everything she hears. I often hear her singing the ABC's or 'I am a Child of God'. She is a great big sister and still my little helper, when she wants to be of course. Calvin is like a pin ball, bouncing from one thing to the next. I don't see him slowing down any time soon. His smile and laugh make up for it a little though. He is communicating more and has added Toy Story character names to his vocabulary. Woody and Buzz are talked about all day long. Emmett is sweet as can be. He makes cute noises and has a smile that is contagious.

Emmett is 2 months old!

Emmett just had his 2 month check-up and he is doing great and very healthy. At least that's what the doctor said over and over. "He's a healthy boy. Look at this healthy boy. This healthy boy is doing great, you got nothing to worry about." I'm glad I got nothing to worry about. Emmett is so sweet and fun. He loves to cuddle and is smiling more and more. He's easy to please and patient when I need him to be. We all love him very much.
Here's his stats.
Height: 23 1/4 inches long (65th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs. 15 oz. (87th percentile)
Head: 40 cm (80th percentile)

He's just so cute:)

Halloween Fun

It was a busy October and we had a lot of fun. We went to a Fall festival, pumpkin patch, corn maize, ward and playgroup Halloween parties, and trick-or-treating. Here's pics from all the festivities.
